Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (Terms) set out the basis on which Bollin Clinic, and the consultants working with us, provide treatment and care to you. They are designed to ensure that you fully understand what is included in your treatment package, how payments and cancellations are handled, and what your rights and responsibilities are.

It is very important that you read these Terms carefully. If there is anything you are unsure about, or would like further explanation, we strongly encourage you to contact us prior to signing your Consent Form.

Pricing and Consultations

Prices displayed on our website are guides only. The final cost of your treatment will depend on the type of procedure, your individual clinical requirements, and the hospital or clinic where your treatment is carried out.

A written confirmation letter will be provided after your consultation. This letter will outline the total cost of your procedure, including what is and is not included.

We are committed to transparency and will always provide you with clear information about the costs of your treatment prior to surgery.

If you would like clarification on pricing before your consultation, please contact the clinic and a member of our team will be happy to advise.

Implants and Procedures

For procedures involving implants, the choice of implant will be made jointly between you and your surgeon prior to surgery. The responsibility for the final decision lies with you, having discussed the options and risks with your consultant.

Surgery may be carried out as a day case (outpatient) or may require one or more overnight stays depending on your medical needs and the procedure undertaken.

During your operation, it may be necessary for the surgeon to perform additional steps which they consider essential for your health, safety, or the overall result. These decisions will be made in your best interests.

Clinical photographs may be taken as part of your medical records, in line with the consent you have provided. These form a part of your confidential records and will be handled in accordance with data protection regulations.

What Is Included in the Fixed Price

Where a fixed price is confirmed in writing, it covers:

  • Consultant and anaesthetist fees directly related to your surgery.
  • Hospital or clinic charges for the agreed procedure.
  • Pre-operative assessment, including routine MRSA testing undertaken in the hospital/clinic setting.
  • Implants and surgical garments, if these form part of your treatment plan.
  • Medication and dressings needed immediately before, during, and after your operation.
  • Nursing care both while you are in hospital and immediately post-discharge.
  • Post-operative consultations with your surgeon, scheduled as necessary, for up to 12 months after your procedure date.

What Is Not Included in the Fixed Price

The following items are not covered by your fixed price package:

  • Additional or replacement surgical garments purchased outside of your agreed package.
  • Any laboratory investigations not specifically included, such as biopsies, histology, or specialist tests. For example, in breast reduction surgery, tissue samples are routinely sent for histological examination (and are included in the price), but additional biopsies are not.
  • Additional medical tests or services (blood tests, ECGs, wound swabs, scans, or private prescriptions) recommended by your surgeon but not listed in your quotation.
  • MRSA tests carried out by post, which incur an additional postage and handling fee.
  • Transport or travel costs to and from the hospital or clinic.
  • Fees charged by your GP or other healthcare professionals for providing medical records, letters of support, or fitness-for-surgery assessments. These are your responsibility.

Payment Terms

A deposit is required at the time of booking your surgery. The amount payable will be confirmed at the time of booking.

The outstanding balance must be paid no later than three weeks prior to your surgery date.

If your procedure is scheduled at a partner hospital (e.g., Nuffield), payments may be collected directly by the hospital.

If you cancel your procedure after booking, you will be charged for any care received up to the point of cancellation.

If you cancel within three working weeks of your surgery date, your deposit will not be refunded.

If you postpone and reschedule your surgery, additional charges may apply depending on the notice period given and the hospital’s policies. These will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Cancellation by Bollin Clinic

We may occasionally need to cancel surgery for clinical reasons, such as if it is deemed unsafe to proceed with your operation. This decision will always be made with your wellbeing in mind, either by your consultant or another senior member of the clinical team.

In such cases, we will refund the fixed price you have paid, minus any booking charges or third-party costs (e.g., hospital fees, pre-operative tests) already incurred. If surgery is rescheduled, new pre-operative test fees may apply.

If we do not receive your medical records or a GP confirmation letter at least 14 days before your surgery, your procedure may be cancelled and your deposit may be lost.

Non-clinical cancellations (e.g., logistical or scheduling issues) may also occasionally occur. Where this happens, we will provide as much notice as possible and rearrange your procedure at a mutually agreed date. If we reschedule within a reasonable time frame, sums paid will not be refunded. We are not liable for consequential loss in such cases.

Complications and Revision Surgery

While every effort is made to ensure a successful outcome, no surgical procedure is entirely without risk, and results cannot be guaranteed.

Your fixed price covers the management of any clinical complications directly arising from your treatment, provided you follow medical advice and attend all follow-up appointments.

If a further procedure is required for optimal results but is not considered necessary due to error or complication, you will be responsible for any additional fees.

Revision procedures will only be considered after an appropriate healing period, usually no earlier than six months post-surgery, unless urgent clinical reasons apply.

If revision surgery is performed by another provider without our prior agreement, these Terms will no longer apply.

We do not cover loss of earnings or personal expenses for you or anyone accompanying you.

Your Responsibilities

You will remain under the care of your consultant, who may delegate aspects of your care to other qualified professionals (registrars, anaesthetists, nursing staff, surgical assistants, etc.) under supervision.

You must follow the advice provided by all members of your care team. Failure to comply with medical instructions may affect your recovery and may invalidate these Terms.

If you fail to attend two consecutive post-operative review appointments without explanation, we are not obliged to continue offering further follow-up care.

At times, you may be referred back to your GP or NHS services for ongoing or supplementary care.

Legal and Contractual Terms

By signing your Consent Form, you agree to be bound by these Terms. In the event of conflict between documents, these Terms take precedence.

We may update these Terms from time to time; however, changes only apply to new episodes of care or treatment.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the English courts.

Except for you and us, no third party has rights under these Terms.
